Starting Secondary School at Woodford
Coming to Woodford for Secondary School is an exciting step into a future full of possibility. As Woodford State School transforms into a Prep to Year 12 school, our students have the unique opportunity to be part of something new, aspirational and deeply connected to our local community.
Our secondary students are known, supported and challenged to grow as learners, leaders and young people. Through the Woodford Way, students are encouraged to show Calm, Learner, Engaged, Attitude and Respect as they build confidence, independence and a strong sense of belonging.
Transition to secondary school is carefully supported through a range of experiences that help students feel confident and connected before they begin. These include school visits, orientation activities, transition events, opportunities to meet key staff, student leadership connections, curriculum tasters and family information sessions. We want every student to know where they are going, who will support them and what exciting opportunities await.
As our secondary experience grows through to Year 12 in 2029, students joining Woodford now will be part of a new and exciting future. They will help shape the next chapter of our school, with expanding learning pathways, future-focused programs, digital and virtual learning opportunities, and strong connections to local and global futures.
At Woodford, secondary school is more than the next stage of learning. It is a place to belong, to discover strengths, to build friendships, to develop aspirations and to take confident steps towards tomorrow’s success.
